PALM Employer & Labour Sending Unit Workshop

On 24 and 25 August 2026 HUMANBIZ took part in the PALM Employer and Labour Sending Unit Workshop in Brisbane — two days bringing together approved employers, the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations, the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the PALM scheme support team, Approved Employers of Australia and the labour sending units of the Pacific countries.

The sessions covered recruitment pathways, pre-departure preparation, worker welfare and the practical details that make a placement work for both the worker and the employer. It was also a chance to sit down with the Papua New Guinea Labour Mobility Unit and other sending units ahead of our next recruitment round.

A short trip, but a lot learned. Our thanks to the teams at DEWR, DFAT, PALM, AEA and the LSUs for making the time.
